For nearly a half-century, Hollywood Woodwork has been on the leading edge of architectural woodworking, providing interiors for the hospitality industry, office buildings, retail space and custom homes throughout the United States and the Caribbean.
Products are manufactured at the company’s 60,000-square-foot facility in Hollywood, FL, then shipped to each building site, where installation is performed by the company’s craftsmen.
Hollywood Woodwork recently put the finishing touches on a premier property for one of the newest Ritz-Carlton resorts — the Ritz-Carlton Reserve Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico. Hollywood Woodwork has a long-standing relationship with Ritz-Carlton, having provided interior work on hotels and resorts including the Ritz-Carlton Club in Jupiter, FL, the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman and the Ritz-Carlton Dallas. Work has just finished on the new Ritz-Carlton Aruba.
The Dorado Beach property is the second in a series of Ritz-Carlton’s new Reserve luxury resorts. Each is planned as a unique destination property, designed to incorporate the four natural elements — earth, air, water and fire. The exclusive Dorado Beach property has 100 guest rooms and 14 single-bedroom residences. Guest amenities include a 56-hole golf course, spa/fitness center, two gourmet restaurants and lounge.
Hollywood Woodwork was selected to manufacture, finish and install wood cabinetry, wood and metal trim, decking and wall accents in the interior of many of the hotel’s private rooms and public areas. Hollywood partnered with the resort’s owner, Caribbean Property Group; SB Architects of San Francisco and Miami; contractor Caribbean Industrial Construction (CIC) Group in San Juan, Puerto Rico; and DBR Development Management, LLC in Dorado, Puerto Rico, throughout the 1-1/2-year project.
The Dorado Beach property is designed and built to LEED Silver standards, making it among top 100 most sustainable hotels in the world. A member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Hollywood Woodwork has high sustainability standards of its own.
One of Hollywood Woodwork’s contributions to the sustainability effort was its use of Sherwin-Williams formaldehyde-free Sher-Wood F3 Kemvar Varnish for all interior millwork finishes. Hollywood Woodwork has partnered with Sherwin-Williams for more than 12 years.
